Toad Road, from Elijah Wood’s SpectreVision, Arrives This October

This October, Artsploitation Films, in association with Elijah Wood’s genre-themed production company, SpectreVision and Random Bench, will unleash the haunting and mesmerizing Toad Road via limited theatrical release.

The story follows a young college student who befriends a group of hard partying friends and finds herself drawn into the local legend of Toad Road – a pathway in the forest rumored to contain the seven gates that lead directly to Hell. Toad Road displays a disturbing portrait of contemporary youth culture where the lines between perception and reality are blurred with often frightening results.

The film is slated to open in Los Angeles on October 18th and October 25th in New York City.

Winning the Best Director and Best Actor awards at the 2012 Fantasia International Film Festival and Best Picture at the Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival, director Jason Banker blends documentary footage with horror elements to create a cinematic experience like no other.

Grand Piano finds US Distribution

Magnolia Pictures announced today that they have acquired US rights to Grand Piano in advance of its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin.

Starring Elijah Wood and John Cusack, the film was directed by Eugenio Mira (Agnosia) and produced by Adrián Guerra and Rodrigo Cortés (producers of Buried, Red Lights).

Wood plays Tom Selznick, the most talented pianist of his generation, who has stopped performing in public because of his stage fright. Years after a catastrophic performance, he reappears in public for a long awaited concert in Chicago. In a packed theater, in front of an expectant audience, Tom finds a message written on the score: “Play one wrong note and you die.” In the sights of an anonymous sniper (Cusack), Tom must get through the most difficult performance of his life and look for help without being detected.

Magnet is planning a 2014 release for the film.

Hard work, worth it

I’ve been familiarizing myself with Elijah’s filmography and have been researching images dates and photographers. Its no easy task. I’ve spent a lot of time on this. I’ve tried to find a site that was somewhat complete and only found two worth reading from. But I am working on my own and adding stuff those sites never had. I was reading if Wilfred will have a Season 4. So far. It all comes down to ratings. If they get good ratings for the season finale chances are we will get a season 4, but if not I need not tell you the latter. I’ve been watching the show and have enjoyed it.
