HOLLYWOOD actor Elijah Wood has revealed he took a pilgrimage and followed in the footsteps of city-born poet Dylan Thomas during a break from filming in Swansea Bay.
Elijah, who is taking on the lead role of the Canadian-born poet John Malcolm Brinnin in Set Fire to the Stars, said it “was wonderful to experience walking in his shoes” by visiting Dylan’s haunts in Laugharne and filming at his favourite places in Swansea.
The 33-year-old, who has starred in Lord of the Rings, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Sin City, said he wished there had been greater opportunity to see more of Swansea during the 18 days of filming the movie, which is co-produced by YJB Films.
Elijah said: “We took a pilgrimage to Laugharne and we went to the Boathouse.”
