Bookworm Trailer

The new trailer for Bookworm is out and coming to cinemas on August 8. You can view the synopsis and trailer below.

SYNOPSIS
12-year-old Mildred’s life is turned upside down when her stressed out, strapped-for-cash single mum lands in hospital and her estranged father, Strawn Wise (Elijah Wood) – a has-been American illusionist – flies to New Zealand to look after her.

The bookish tween’s lifelong quest has been to capture proof that the mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther exists, which would bring with it a cash prize that would pull her and her mother out of their financial struggles.

Newly introduced father and daughter head to the wilderness on a camping trip for the ultimate test of family bonding, watched from afar by a deadly black beast that could be the answer to all their woes.

Exploring universal themes of fatherhood, survival and overcoming your fears, and with the rugged Southern New Zealand landscape as its backdrop, BOOKWORM will make you laugh, cry and warm your heart as it takes you on the adventure of a lifetime.

New poster and Still from Bookworm.

The Monkey Film Wraps

Horror movie The Monkey, the adaptation of the Stephen King short story, wrapped shoot a week ago and we can reveal that lead cast joining Theo James (The White Lotus) includes Tatiana Maslany (She–Hulk: Attorney at Law), Elijah Wood (The Lord Of The Rings), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (The Hardy Boys) and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek).

As we previously reported, the team behind the movie includes genre supremo James Wan, creator of the The Conjuring Universe and co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises.

In The Monkey, when twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths starts occurring all around them. The brothers decide to throw the monkey away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good before it takes the lives of everyone close to them.

Theo James plays the twins in later years. Convery plays the younger twins.
